Dr. Nicki (Field) Schuman

Owner, Veterinarian


Dr. Nicki (Field) Schuman was born and raised in the East Bay, and received her BS in Animal Science from UC Davis before receiving her DVM from Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California. After graduation she returned to the Bay Area and completed a small animal emergency and surgery internship at San Francisco Veterinary Specialists. Following her internship, she went into private practice in the East Bay for the next 7 years. She took some time off to start a family and has now returned to practice as the proud new owner of Lamorinda Animal Hospital. She is a warm and compassionate veterinarian who will enhance this practice with her years of experience coupled with her extensive knowledge of current veterinary medicine and procedures. 

Away from work she spends time with her husband, and together they chase and play with their twin toddlers. They share their home with their dog, Fergus, and two cats, Spanky and Gerdie. 


Dr. Dana Schaffer

Associate Veterinarian / Acupuncture


Dr. Dana Schaffer graduated with a BA in Journalism and Political Science from Rutgers College, Rutgers University in 1993. After working in public relations, she decided to make a career change in 1996. She began working in the field of veterinary medicine and went back to school in an effort to gain admission to veterinary school. She completed her medical training at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and has practiced in Lafayette since graduating in 2005. 

Dr. Schaffer strives to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, ferrets and hamsters. As a veterinarian, she believes she is very fortunate to be in a position that supports and fosters quality of life and longevity and that gives her the opportunity to relieve the pain and discomfort of the animals in her care.

Dana lives with her new dog Tootles, two feline muses, Buffy and Bonnie, and a charming rabbit named Tony. Her favorite moments were the births of her niece and nephew. Her car's name is Gussie. She likes being organized. She enjoys funk & Latin music, crossword puzzles, York peppermint patties, and any endeavor that makes her laugh.

 


Dr. Tami Pierce

Associate Veterinarian


Dr. Tami Pierce returns to the East Bay after five years as a clinical veterinarian at UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine teaching senior veterinary students primary care medicine and dentistry. She graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 with a focus in small animal medicine. Following graduation she entered private practice in the East Bay where she practiced small animal and exotic medicine. While in private practice she completed a Don Low Fellowship in Behavior at the University of California School of Veterinary Medicine in Davis. Dr Pierce was also an Adjunct Professor at the Veterinary Technician program at Cosumnes River Community College and worked at a feline exclusive practice prior to her appointment at UC Davis. Her main focus is offering high quality general veterinary medicine to her clients and patients but she also has an interest in behavioral medicine and general dentistry. Dr. Pierce is married and shares her home with 2 corgis, 4 cats and a blue and gold macaw.



Dr. Adriana Moreno

Associate Veterinarian


We are excited to welcome Dr. Adriana Moreno to the Lamorinda Animal Hospital family. She earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University in 2013 and has been working in small animal practices in Oklahoma and California since graduation. Dr. Moreno understands and appreciates the importance of clear client communication and enjoys educating clients and the public about preventative care. She is a thorough, caring, and compassionate doctor with a special interest in ultrasound and internal medicine cases.
