Caring for life...caring for a lifetime.
Internal Medicine
Internal Medicine, in the hands of the right doctor, is the veterinary specialty in which the "art of medicine” finds its highest level of expression. Internists often care for patients that have multiple problems, atypical presentations, and a history of poor response to treatment. Too often, the approach to the difficult medical case is to perform a battery of expensive tests and procedures that produce a lot of data but may or may not be helpful in deciphering the underlying problems.

At Four Seasons Animal Hospital, our internists focus on the patient and not just the data - taking a detailed history, reviewing the previous medical record, performing a careful physical exam, selecting which tests and procedures are needed and most useful, and integrating all the information to be able to provide each pet owner with good advice and reasonable options for a successful outcome. When further tests or treatments are required, a wide range of sophisticated medical and surgical resources are available in our state-of-the-art hospital. For home care, a treatment program is carefully planned with you to fit within the capabilities and limitations of your family's ability to deliver this care at home.

At times our pets have medical problems that cannot be cured even with the most sophisticated level of care. For these patients, our doctors understand that the primary consideration is the quality of life for you and your pet. We are skilled at balancing what is clinically indicated for your pet with what is most likely to keep you and your pet comfortable and happy together.
