Caring for life...caring for a lifetime.

Dr. Julie Cummings
Dr. Julie Cummings has practiced veterinary medicine in the East Bay since 1985. In 1997 she was a co-founder of Four Seasons Animal Hospital, establishing a high-quality, service-oriented general practice in Lafayette. Beginning in 2004, after 20 years in general practice, Dr. Cummings began 4 years of intensive training in a medical residency.

Working in a residency program of her own design, Dr. Cummings was able to train throughout the country with recognized experts in internal medicine, cardiology, pulmonology, infectious disease, critical care, oncology, radiology, pathology, and other specialty disciplines. In 2007 she passed her specialty examination and became board certified in Internal Medicine. She returned to Four Seasons Animal Hospital with a vision to build a fully integrated hospital with the patients at the heart of both the design and the mission. The new Four Seasons Animal Hospital is a result of that vision.

Dr. Cummings’ professional interests include infectious, respiratory and endocrine diseases. Julie spends her personal time with her husband, Dr. Jan Kovacic, her furry and feathered pets, and her very patient friends and family. With residency training behind her and the new hospital completed, she is looking forward to enjoying her free time skiing, reading fiction, gardening, and working on design projects and arts and crafts.
