Dr. Matt Blanchong was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio where he visits family and friends as often as he can. He attended the University of Notre Dame where he received undergraduate degrees in both Finance and Japanese. While attending Notre Dame, he was a varsity swimmer and an NCAA All-American. After college, he spent two years in Japan studying business, followed by four years in the Bay Area as an investment banker for the internet and technology industries. He then returned to school to achieve his life-long dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Dr. Blanchong attended The Ohio State University where he received his doctorate in veterinary medicine and a masters degree in virology in 2007. His professional passion is emergency medicine and surgery - since graduation he has worked exclusively as an emergency clinician in referral veterinary practice.
Matt has traveled extensively for both business and pleasure. Exploring different cultures and languages is one of his favorite pastimes, with French and Japanese societies being his most passionate interests. He also enjoys outdoor activities, triathlons and meditation. |
