Dr. Mona Miller |
|
Dr. Mona Miller developed a passion for helping animals during her childhood, rescuing stray birds and cats in the canyons above Los Angeles. Her interest in biology and medical science during school prompted her to explore veterinary medicine as a career. She received her BA in genetics from UC Berkeley in 1985 and her DVM from UC Davis in 1990. She completed a one-year medical/surgical internship at VCA-West Los Angeles, and spent the next year practicing in Boston. She returned to Southern California (Simi Valley/Thousand Oaks) for nine years, and since 2001, has been happy to make the Bay Area her home.
Dr. MIller joined the medical team at Four Seasons in 2001 and she enjoys being part of a general practice that promotes personalized health care at all stages of a pet’s life. She is very interested in canine/feline internal medicine and preventive health care. She cares for a variety of species - birds, reptiles, rabbits and rodents - and finds this aspect of her practice especially interesting, challenging and rewarding. She has pursued continuing education in these areas and has been a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians since 1997 and the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians since 2008.
Mona lives in Lafayette with her young son and two cats. She enjoys spending time in the garden, reading novels, playing piano and partaking in the local scenery and culture. Her son keeps her very busy on her off time. Her personal wish list includes traveling, developing more artistic talents, and involving herself in the local school systems. Mona has a special fondness for Labrador Retrievers. |
