Dr. Wendy Wallace's professional focus is on blending western and eastern therapeutic modalities to provide comprehensive care for her patients. Dr. Wallace cares for the working dogs of many active competitors in agility, obedience, herding, field flyball and Schutzhund. She also works with exotic pets in traditional western medicine as well as eastern treatments.
Dr. Wallace graduated from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987 and spent several years in clinical practice in the East Bay before co-founding Four Seasons Animal Hospital in 1997. After ten years of practice, she decided to further her education by taking certification course in veterinary chiropractic and acupuncture. Dr. Wallace treats her alternative medicine patients for a variety of conditions and uses her knowledge in western medicine to augment her eastern medical skills.
Dr. Wallace is actively involved in canine sports medicine and has traveled to Europe to work on AKC agility world team dogs as well as to compete with her own dogs. Her sheltie Swish made the finals for the United States at the 2007 European Open World Agility Championships in Italy. She has lectured locally and nationally to dog enthusiasts and veterinary groups, including several National Breed Specialties, Power Paws Agility camps, and the Traditional Veterinary Medicine Symposium in 2009 on topics including structure and function, keeping athletes fit using alternative medicine, and getting the most out of the canine athlete. Dr. Wallace has lectured with Pat Hastings and has co-authored a new book with her entitled Structure in Action: Making of a Durable Dog.
Wendy enjoys hiking and sailing with her husband Dan and working and playing with her shelties Sera, Swish, and Bryce, who compete in agility, conformation, obedience and herding. |
