Caring for life...caring for a lifetime.

Dr. Christina Fernandez
Dr. Christina Fernandez graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biology from The State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1998. Prompted by a love for traveling and a high motivation to study veterinary medicine, she moved to Grenada in 2003 to pursue her veterinary studies. During that time she spent three months studying abroad in Uganda, East Africa and completed her fourth year of clinical training at The University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She graduated with honors from St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.

After graduation, Dr. Fernandez took a clinical position on the faculty at St. George’s University. She enjoyed practicing medicine and surgery as well as teaching and mentoring students there for over a year. During that time she also provided shelter medicine services for the Grenada SPCA. Due to a strong desire to fully immerse herself in an emergency/critical care setting, Dr. Fernandez moved back to New York in 2008, where she practiced for two years in a 24-hour emergency clinic providing care for critically ill and injured animals. Since that time she has decided to pursue advanced training toward board certification in the specialty of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care and has joined the Four Seasons Animal Hospital emergency/critical care staff. Dr. Fernandez is a member of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society and a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in the United Kingdom. She has also published two articles in the scientific literature.

In her free time Chrissy loves to read, spend time outdoors, visit family and friends abroad, and travel with her husband who is also a veterinarian. They share their home with two dogs and two cats and are excited about exploring the west coast in their free time.
